Kids in the street
These precious little kids were alone in the street outside the children's home. The guards told us that the grandmother leaves them there when she goes to work because she knows if the stay near our guards they will be safe till she gets home. Some of the folks on the team gave them some food to eat because they looked hungry.

The Work has started!
Early Tuesday morning the team got on the job with three projects. Some of the team are working on building new bunk beds for the home. Others are working on laying paving stones in a section of the home. The last project we are starting with is building a block retaining wall at the entrance of the home.
The Bunk Beds
One of the projects that we are working on is the construction of bunk beds for the Home. Our goal is to build 14 units which is 28 beds by Friday. Don Snow from York is here with us to guide us in the process he has a great design for the bunk beds that make it very streamlined. We have some people plaining wood, some are sanding, some are routing the edges, some are cutting and others are assembling the pieces.

The Wall
Another project we are working on this week is to install a block retaining wall at the entrance into the children's home. Tommy the missionary down here was very excited that we had someone on the team that was familiar with laying block. This will not only be very functional, but it will be very beautiful addition to the home ass well
Pavers?
Think patio. That's what the pavers are all about. They use them here for streets and for around buildings. The area we are working in this week is in front of the schools snack shop. It is a place where the kids can go to buy their lunch or a snack during school and then they can sit at tables to eat. Basically it is an outdoor cafeteria. The pavers will make it a better place for the kids, especially in the rainy season.
